Owner

The Storskogen has been Almab’s main owner since December 2018.

Our story

Almab has strong traditions. That’s what happens with a company that has been run by the same family for three generations. P-O Larsson took over the responsibility in 1986. His father Nils had been running Almab since he took over from his grandfather Anders. Traditions go hand in hand with security. Almab celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2008. Over three generations, the specialists at Almab have collaborated with customers to develop efficient and profitable processes for raw sorting, sawmills, and planing mills.

1928

Almab is formed by Anders Larsson along with his brothers Lars-Gunnar and Karl to saw and plane timber for customers around Storvik.

1945

Almab takes over the agency for sawmill machinery for Bolinders.

1957

Premiere for the first carrier, developed and manufactured by Almab.

1965

The first shipment of steel is delivered to the customer.

1969

The workshop premises have become too small. Almab is moving 300 m and getting opportunities to expand significantly.

1971

The first export order. Today, about 75 percent of Almab’s production is destined for export.

1985

Start designing with the help of CAD systems.

1988

Establishing a subsidiary in Norway.

1995

Establishment of workshop in Estonia.

2000

Develop the first sorting facility with camera sorting.

2001

Starting a sales company in Finland.

2003

Owner of Nolyx AB, a company developing electrical control for advanced industrial processes.

2008

Almab celebrates its 80th anniversary, and sales are steadily increasing. The Russian market accounts for a growing share of deliveries.

2012

Provator AB becomes the new majority owner.

2018

Alma is celebrating 90 years.

2018

Storskogen becomes the new majority owner.

2023

Almab opens a new office in Gävle.
Almab acquires Nolyx, a company specializing in industrial automation solutions.
